- Condition: The dryer has detected the metering was either turned off while the burner was on or was never started within the allotted 5 minute window of having the burner on.
- Alarm Action Taken: MINOR ALARM
- Component: PLC output to metering VFD (Variable Frequency Drive)
- Location: Metering VFD is located in the high voltage cabinet at base of dryer.
Tools Required for Service:
- Voltage/continuity meter
- Small standard blade screwdriver (vfd/plc wiring terminals)
Tech tip: (115 vac circuit)
The plc (programable logic controller) sends an output signal to the VFD to start. If this start signal is interrupted or stopped, it activates this alarm.
Potential causes of this alarm condition:
- Operator has forgot to start metering in controller with burner started
- Operator has turned metering off in controller with burner started
- Poor connection on wire carrying signal from PLC to VFD
