• Condition:  The dryer has detected the unload “Carousel” has stopped rotating.
  • Alarm Action Taken: MINOR ALARM
  • Component: Micro switch w/roller head.
  • Location: Mounted in a vertical spacer panel in-between two removable access covers for the unload carousel.  Usually accessible from the ground level entry ladder into the inside lower chamber of the dryer.

Tech tip: (115 vac circuit)

The metering sensor switch is activated by brackets that are mounted on the unloading carousel,  hitting the roller head as they rotate by.

Tools Required for Service:

  • Voltage/continuity meter
  • #2 Philips screwdriver (wiring terminals inside)
  • Small standard blade screwdriver (to open cover)
  • Channel Locks (if replacing switch)
  • 6’ step ladder

Potential Causes of this Alarm Condition:

  • Drive sprocket on gearbox has disengaged from chain on carousel
  • “Lovejoy” coupler between drive motor and gearbox has separated
  • Keys inside “Lovejoy” coupler for motor or gearbox have sheared
  • Roller head on microswitch has stuck open
  • Microswitch has become loose
  • Missing or loose trip brackets on carousel
  • Loose connection or faulty contacts in switch
