• Condition:  The dryer has detected one of two conditions:
    • the manual maxon valve arm was not activated before the internal program timer of 5 minutes has lapsed, or
    • the arm was deactivated or loss of power to the valve after being activated resulting in a loss of input to the dryer.
  • Alarm Action Taken: MINOR ALARM
  • Component: Manual Maxon Valve.
  • Location: On the lower fuel trane at the base of the dryer. Has a lever arm with a round black knob and a status window that says “Open” or “Shut”.

Tech tip: (115 vac circuit) (Has a microswitch inside body for confirmation of opening)

The manual maxon valve is a fuel trane shutoff device that requires operator interaction to manually open the valve.

Tools Required for Service:

  • Voltage/continuity meter
  • Large standard blade screwdriver or allen wrenches (to open cover)
  • Small standard blade screwdriver (wiring terminals inside)

Potential Causes of this Alarm Condition:

  • Operator failed to activate manual lever on valve within 5-minute window of “Enabling Gas Trane” button on controller
  • Lever was deactivated while operating
  • No power to coil of maxon valve
  • Faulty or out of adjustment internal microswitch
  • Valve stuck in closed position
